About Us

The Leader

Since 1933

Since it was founded in 1933 by Guy Snyder, Inter-State Studio and Publishing has focused on quality, service and innovation. Today we are North America's largest family-owned school photography and yearbook publishing company.

Here are a few of our innovation milestones:
  • 1933 - Guy Snyder begins photographing school children in one-room schoolhouses in the Missouri Ozarks.
  • 1940s - Introduction of electronic flash improves portrait quality and allows more relaxed expressions.
  • 1960s - Conversion to color photography makes portraits appear more natural.
  • 1980s - Continuing the family tradition, Aric Snyder becomes CEO, launching a new era of innovation.
  • 1990s - Digital composites include everyone in the class along with their names - a timeless keepsake.
  • 2000s - Conversion to digital photography improves image quality, reduces retakes and allows personalization of portraits and graphics.
